Wow, even though I’m up early, I’m so excited to be up and sharing this post with you before I head off on a road trip across the West! 🙂
Everyone has a different version of balance. I’ve come to the point, where I probably wouldn’t have a percentage to my ratios of eating vegetables vs. dessert, but I have those days, when what I ate seems just right. For my ‘What I ate Wednesday’ with Jenn I’m going to share what my version of a balanced day of eats looks like for my body.
The day usually starts out with something that either normally involves a good amount of carbs, some protein, and of course, peanut butter for my FAT! 🙂
It sometimes comes in the form of pancakes.
Or oatmeal . . .
Or cottage cheese and pecans and (usually a piece of unpictured fruit on the side)
I don’t usually have a snack on the hours between breakfast and lunch, but lunch normally includes some sort of leftover from dinner the night before + some salad. 🙂
Sometimes it’s a TACO salad! I <3 taco salad.
And my stomach normally doesn’t survive the whole distance between lunch and dinner so a banana and peanut butter is a normal snack.
Other times the snack might just have a little more sugar in it… Usually, if I have a dessert in the afternoon, I don’t often want to eat a dessert after dinner. It depends on the day.
Then there’s dinner, the last meal, before the breaking of the fast in the morning. I love dinner time, because it’s a time for my family to get together and fellowship and talk, a bit (We’re not the most talkative people in the world), after a long day. Family truly is a gift from God, and I pray that God would help me never to take them for granted.
Dinner varies from chicken to sloppy joes to macaroni n’ cheese or a salad bar. It really just depends on the night, but this dinner is a dinner I enjoyed last week that was worth noting . . .
Teriyaki Chicken and Spinach Salad and Sesame Peas. – Since I’m part Japanese, any Oriental dish always has a special place in my heart :).
And to top it all off if I didn’t have a dessert in the afternoon, I usually…. have some sort of sweet thing like cake, or icecream (I had a good amount of icecream this summer), pie, a cookie, or some candy. 🙂
Introducing: The Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake (One of the best cake recipes EVER!)
I hope you have a blessed day. Today, I want to make a special effort, in the car, to count my many blessings, friends and the ability to enjoy fellowship in Christ!!! 🙂
What are you eating this week?
Sweet or salty food?
Do you eat dessert everyday? Or are you more of a once every other day sort of a person?
