This story made me think of this verse. Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Another verse also came to mind right as I was writing this post… It’s from Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” This is Sarah; Sarah overcame a big enemy called an eating disorder. She struggled with it for years in silence, and now she is one of the greatest, most precious voices that God has brought into so many lives to help them learn to overcome too.
Sarah is beautiful, enthusiastic, always willing to share her weaknesses, quick to pray, constantly taking up her cross and following Jesus, taking care of herself so she can love others, and promoting strength, joy, and hope in the Lord Jesus.
These podcasts have been so full of joy, despite the fact that the stories are not easy to tell, or hear. It hurts to hear about others hurting, but it is absolutely humbling and awesome to see how Jesus heals the brokenhearted, raises the lame, and gives liberty to the bruised (no matter how hard an eating disorder bruises you.)
Basically, there aren’t really words to describe how grateful I am for Sarah. She is a gift, just as each woman is that has been on the podcast, and she is here to tell you the story of how she overcame, overcame by the hope of Christ in her, one of the Hardest, Darkest valleys of her life.
Today Sarah shared about her experience with:
In Patient Treatment
Counseling Others With ED’s
Understanding The Struggles of those with Eating Disorders
Being Vulnerable About Struggles
How She Overcame The Need To Get On The Scale
and so many more things that I don’t want to spoil it. I laughed, cried, and I sat there in awe listening to Sarah’s compassion (that truly spoke of the work of Jesus in her), Sarah’s strength, and Sarah’s love for others.
It made me want to sing, “Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!!”
Without teasing you any further, here it is… I hope you can reach out to Sarah, email her, or message her if the podcast really speaks to you in your struggles.
Sarah is also a loving mommy of two really handsome, beautiful little boys who are constantly making her smile and showing the deep, sacrificial love she gives to them each day.
Most of all, I know Sarah will shine the wisdom, the glory, the grace of God to you through her life, and I know it will be a light and a balm to your soul. <3 She is a testament to His work.
I’m linking up with Amanda for Sarah to share her story!

Is it hard for you to share your struggles/weaknesses with others?
How have struggles in your life been overcome?
Have there been times in your life when you felt like something almost overcame you but then the LIGHT broke through the tunnel?
On another note: Would you please pray for a miracle for this little boy, Lion Hearted Charlie? I know him personally, and he is a beloved little boy in the church community. I know everything is in God’s hands and His perfect will; please just pray! <3
