Genesis 2:3, ‘And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Who else had a super restful Sunday? It was a glorious day. Ours was a bit different than normal but still wonderful. It included… um… a great deal of white stuff, commonly called snow. Yep, it’s April 17th, and by God’s grace and provision, we still get snow at this time of year. (Secretly, or not, I love it, and I want to show you why you should love it too, no pressure.)
Yep, that’s me, and it is just so glorious to go on a walk with the pups before going to share in some time of prayer and informal worship with the brothers and sisters in Christ. The regular service was canceled, but I’m grateful we were able to go and spend time together at the building later in the afternoon.
Colossians 3:16, ‘Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.’
My view from laying on the ground… Huskies come alive in the snow. They literally just want to go and go and go… God’s wonder is so amazingly displayed through even the furriest creatures.
So, how do you enjoy snow if you don’t love it?
1. Think of all the moisture it’s providing the earth to produce RANKS upon RANKS of delicious food that you eat everyday.
Psalm 65:10-13, ‘Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.’
