Remember the time I talked about my gut health journey? Well, there have been some developments since then to my digestive/gut health journey. I wanted to share them with you.
Well… most of the gut health struggles I’ve had came on after I jumped into recovery with gusto. I don’t know exactly what triggered it, but years of restriction may have made my digestive system unhappy and unable to deal with the nutrition that was finally getting into my system.
However, I can not ignore these things and be proud and arrogant about not needing to do anything because my body does need help. I want to take care of it as the temple of the Holy Spirit, for God’s glory, and I can’t ignore that.
‘Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?’ (1 Corinthians 6:19)
One of the first things I’m trying is ‘probiotics.’
I’m no nutrition expert, so I’m not going to go at it from that angle, but I have found that one of the best things for my system is to get a daily dose of probiotics.

A couple months ago, I found the UP4 Probiotics on Instagram. I thought, ‘Maybe this will help my digestive system?’ So I reached out, and they sent me one bottle to try and a bottle to giveaway.
I’ve been using them consistently for approximately a week, and I have noticed a difference on the day I use them. I don’t feel bloated, and I don’t usually go to bed with any (sorry for tmi) gas or an uncomfortably full or bloated feeling.
It seems like they’ve been an extra blessing for my gut with the daily dose of yogurt that I eat every day. I’m hoping to continue to use probiotics on a semi-regular basis as I explore more ways to deal with my digestive struggles.
Nothing like the good old sunflower butter and jelly for a sensitive stomach.
What are some of the most uncomfortable symptoms of indigestion I struggle with on those ‘off’ days?
3. Stomach Cramps
But I am SO SO grateful, because this doesn’t happen very often. God is merciful to me, in that it often only happens once a week or once every couple weeks. And my digestion isn’t really triggered by one certain food.
Do you know what the biggest trigger is for my digestive issues?
I think it has made me understand why God’s Word is so full of reminders to His children to:
Not be Anxious
… and more.
‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ Philippians 4:6-7
‘“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’
Even despite the chaos, the weariness, the stress that often threatens to over take us in this world, I’m reminded that Jesus Christ did come for the very purpose of taking the biggest burden, the burden of sin, separation from God off of us and restore us to peace with God.
What could be better news for anxiety and stress and worry that affects my digestive system?
Jesus lifts the weary and restores the faint. That is what Jesus Christ did when He came to earth, and that is what He continues to do!
I’m so grateful that He provides means of refreshment, healing, and restoration through His precious Word and even nutrition and food for digestive issues, anxiety, stress and weariness.
And I can’t leave this discussion without saying that Up4 Probiotics wanted one of you to be able to try their products too, so I have one extra bottle to giveaway to one of my readers!
